At BokkBaby.com, we believe that sharing is one of the most valuable lessons we teach children. Rooted in the Wolof word bokk (\bōk), meaning “to share,” our mission is to create a more sustainable way for families to pass down high-quality baby clothing, reducing waste and promoting a connected, eco-conscious parenting community.
Our Story
Margaret Harrison co-founded Bokk Baby after witnessing firsthand how quickly babies outgrow their clothes. While serving as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, Margaret worked with midwives in a rural village to renovate a community health clinic, where over 40 babies were delivered each year. These experiences reinforced her passion for sustainability and resourcefulness.
Her inspiration for Bokk Baby came when her sister had her first child. By the time her nephew was three months old, he had already outgrown drawers full of barely worn clothes. Seeing an opportunity to give gently used baby clothing a longer life, Margaret and her co-founder, Danny, envisioned a brand based on circular fashion—where sustainably made products could be worn, shared, and loved again by new families.
